In preparation for the release of the 2020 Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE) results, the management of UNEB will on the afternoon of Wednesday July 14, brief the Minister of Education and Sports, Mama Janet K. Museveni and other Ministry officials on the outcome of the examination. This is in line with the mandate of the Board. The UNEB delegation will be led by the Chairperson of the Board, Prof. Mary J.N. Okwakol and the UNEB Executive Director Mr. Dan N. Odongo.
A total of 749,811 candidates registered for the 2020 Primary Leaving Examinations, indicating an increase of 54,007 (7.8 %) from candidature of 2019. The candidates sat from 14,300 examination Centres. 53% (395,855) of the registered candidates were females while 47% (353,957) were males. 68.4% (513,091) were funded by government under the Universal Primary Education (UPE) Program.
One of the expected outcomes of the briefing meeting with the Minister is announcement of the official date for the release of the results, and the related modalities.
The release will be conducted scientifically, in observance of the COVID-19 Standard Operating Procedures (SOPS). Multiple media and communication channels will be utilized to ensure wide access to the public.
As soon as the results are released, candidates, parents and stakeholders will be able to access the results of individual learners via SMS by typing PLE <Space> Full Index Number, e.g. 003301/368 and send to 6600 on all mobile telecom networks.
Head teachers and school Administrators will access the results through the UNEB portal using their usual details.
